Douglas E. Singer

Douglas has practiced U.S. domestic corporate and contract law in New York for more than forty years.  His work includes establishing and maintaining corporations and limited liability companies, drafting and negotiating business and commercial contracts generally and advising clients regarding, and negotiating and drafting documents for, mergers and acquisitions.

In addition, Douglas has experience in social enterprise law. In that regard, he has worked with individuals, businesses and not-for-profit organizations which are pursuing social, environmental and economic responsibility initiatives through entities such as benefit corporations and entities which are Certified B Corporations.

For some clients, Douglas has served as an outsourced, in-house general counsel, a role which involves providing legal advice in the context of business and strategic considerations. In particular, Douglas uses a relationship-based approach to understand the mission and goals of his business clients and assist them in the strategy implementation.

He is a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of, and serves as general counsel to The Business Council of New York, the largest business membership organization in Westchester County, New York.

Douglas received the Juris Doctor at Columbia University Law School where he was a Stone Scholar, and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program. He has an AV® Peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He has been admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1978.
